Is the neologism "graŭ" the equivalent to "laŭ"?

erinja (Rodyti profilį) 2014 m. liepa 6 d. 22:45:35

No, it is a back formation from malgraŭ, which means "in spite of". It means something like "thanks to".

Ah! OK.

Thanks.

Never heard of this one before. Is it's use approved by the Academy?

One Akademiano used it at the event "Akademio respondas" during UK 2010 in Havanna, Cuba. But that was a joke because the discussion was about words like "malkaj" and "maljam".

I would recommend not to use "graŭ". In most cases "pro" is appropriate.

Thanks for that.

The creation of neologisms is one thing, but that of "tautologisms" is quite another.

Why to use that dictionary for esperanto, when you have vortaro.net (La PIV) and ReVo? Just don't confidence at all wikitionary.

Ĝis, Novatago.
