I was talking via the Tujmesagxilo earlier and I was asked how I found Esperanto. I wanted to tell the person "I simple saw 'Esperanto' on Yahoo Answers when I was studying German." So I typed, "Mi simple vidis 'Esperanto' en Yahoo Answers kiam mi studis la germanan."

Was my use of "kiam" correct in this example? Should "ki-" words only be used when asking questions?

You did correctly. Didn't someone create a thread about relative pronouns here not long ago?

Edit: Ah, there it is.
Oh, it was your thread :?

Read more on this here. You may also benefit from perusing that entire webpage. I have the book version and it's excellent. It will answer many of your questions that I've seen you post, and shine your Esperanto skills to a lustrous sheen at the same time ridulo.gif
