I'm new to the site and Esperanto (well, I did learn a bit about 12-13 years ago, but I'm essentially starting over), and I notice on my PC that it takes a long time for the audio files to load for the courses (at least the two introductory ones that I've started, Bildoj kaj demandoj and Ana Pana), over 10 seconds each. Is this typical? I tried on my iPad as well, but they don't seem to load at all on there.
Dankon!

doug_maynard:...it takes a long time for the audio files to load...I have the same problem. It takes several seconds after clicking the icon for the sound to play.
You might be surprised at how complicated it is to incorporate audio into a website (and have it work properly). Maybe, the Lernu site developers can upload the files to soundcloud or some other program and then embed them into the site.

NotShee:For me, clicking the download link (orange icon) works instantly, as my browser plays the files in a new tab instead of opening them in another program or saving them. With the blue icon, there is a delay of up to one minute. However, the orange icon does not exist in some pages.Funny, given the info provided for each, I never thought to click on the orange icon, but you're right, it is much faster. Plus it has the option to pause and rewind which the blue icon doesn't provide.
Dankon!

Christa627:When I was doing the courses, the sound would not play when I clicked the blue icon, until I scrolled down so the sound player was visible!Jes! That is exactly it. I just tested that theory and it works. In order for the sound to play, you need to see the player on the side. So either scroll, or minimize the sidebar things so you can see it. Donkon Christa627
