This is from the word of the day:

Ŝi skizis ŝian projekton antaŭ la kunveno.
She outlined her project before the meeting.

This sentence means that she outlined someone elses project. Right?

In simple sentences like the one quoted, it's very easy. The complications with 'sia' lie elsewhere.

Sian refers back to the subject (3rd person). Lia, ŝia etc refer to someone else.

Ŝi lavis sian vizaĝon (washed her own face)
Ŝi lavis ŝian vizaĝon (not her own)
