Yesterday I tried the examination Level B on Lernu.net. I did not pass but understood most of the correct answers given to me by the automatic response system. However, when filling in fields with either iĝ or ig, the system indicated nekorekte (devus esti "-" literally as shown. This is what I had:

Ni komencigos studi post unu monato ("-"Li interesiĝas ŝin ("-"Kiam vi komensigos la kurso pri Interreto? ("-"Li interesigas pri tio. (here the system said: iĝ)

I know that ig is used when I cause something to happen and iĝ when it is in a passive form or for instance: La participo aktiva prezenca finiĝas per ant.... or ŝi ruĝiĝas.
Pardonu min ke mi skribis en la angla lingvo. Mi petas al vi helpi min klarigi kiajn estas la korektaj respondoj kaj kial.
PS: Mi ne komprenas kial la formiĝo estas tiel terure! Kaj mi ne volis 'smileys'.

"komenci" jam estas transitiva verbo, do la "-ig" estas superflua: Ni komencis studi post unu monato"
Kaj "interesi" ankaŭ estas transitiva, do necesas la "-iĝ" en cia frazo: Li interesiĝas pri tio." ("he" did not interest someone in something; he is interestED in something. if you said "he interested me in Esperanto" then you would write "Li interesis min pri Esperanto" )

mi interesiĝas pri ŝi = min interesas ŝi. nun mi estas scivolema (ĉar la virino estas svelta kaj ĉarma)

mi interesigis ŝin pri la ringo. mi diris al la virino: rigardu, kia bela la ringo estas. mi faris tiel, ke la virino ekinteresiĝis pri la ringo.

Terurĉjo:verŝajne, mi komencis studi ANTAŬ unu monato. tio signifas, ke jam pasis unu monato post la komenco de la studado.
