The statistics will be interesting to compare when the course is ready. I'm bewildered by the number of people using duolingo (over 19 million Spanish learners!). Some of this will be a huge boost to the Esperanto movement.

I agree, this could be huge. I'm thrilled that the two samideanoj contributing to the course have managed to get this off the ground. No doubt like so many others, I would love to help, but my standard of Esperanto is not up to the task. I really look forward to benefiting from the course though! We discussed Duolingo a while ago in the Spanish forum and the Questions forum and we were hitting the same problem. Well done amuzulo and Swdreamk33!

Thanks Zaragorti!

I've just seen your message on Duolingo too.
Well, we are going to do our best. We are not going to rush Esperanto into beta. Trust in us, we are thinking a lot and improving things so that the course remains easy and fun. We will ask for help and add other contributors as soon as we reach our first deadline (which is 20%).

Be patient please! ridulo.gif

The most surprising thing about Duolinguo is the limited number of languages available for study.

It seems they are primarily concerned about teaching English to as many other languages as possible. This video indicates why this probably is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebc6tcpeYow

Just writing to echo the positive response. I'm using Duolingo to brush up on my German and thought it would be a perfect platform for an additional way to learn Esperanto and a potentially very popular one.

I wish you two the best of luck and look forward to being able to help in anyway that I can.
