How would I express "Special Self-Help Fund?" Especially the "self-help" part. How about speciala helpfonduso por helpi al si? Or would por helpi sin work better? Or is there a more elegant way to say it?

Thanks! ridulo.gif

Speciala sinhelpa/memhelpa fonduso, or por sinhelpo/memhelpo

Ĉu eble "Memfavora Helpfonduso"? Sed, vere mi neniam aŭdis pri tia fonduso/fondaĵo!

Many thanks, Sergejm! I will use speciala fonduso por sinhelpo. That is an elegant way to express it and one I would not have thought of yet.

A Swahili pastor and now friend of mine and I correspond in Esperanto. He has brought together pastors of many faiths into an association to better the lives of their people by working together. They have set as their goal to establish a school to which their community can afford to send their children. The existing schools are priced well beyond the means of those who most need the education.

They propose to start a learning center first to demonstrate they can make it work and have committed what for them is a considerable portion of their income to rent a small building for it. They need funds to put a desk, a filing cabinet, pens and paper in it. I learned of a small grant program the ambassador there has and am helping them put together an application for it. It is called "the Ambassador's Self-Help Fund."

Elkorajn dankojn al ĉiuj por la helpo!
