ruth3209:About grammar rules on Duolingo: It is true that grammar rules are not explained, if you are using the Duolingo app only. However if you are studying from the website you can access "Notes" for each module which give detailed explanations for grammar concepts taught in that module. We are working hard to write excellent notes for the Esperanto course, so that students can easily find answers to grammar and usage questions.
Thank you for all the hardwork you and the team are doing at Duolingo. I am looking forward to going through the course both via web and the Android app. Of course I am trying to give myself as much headstart as I can using lernu! and Memrise.com. Hmmm! Are there any specific memrise deck/s that would give us a headstart until the Duoling course opens up?

Looks like the course is progressing along nicely! I can't wait to read another update from the team working on it.

actually, while i used duolingo for learning french, it taught me the grammar more than anything else. the vocab range is not very wide because they tend to repeat commonly used and simple words. but for the grammar, they exist throughout the course. if there is an expression i find unusual, i click to see the comments for that sentence and most of the time, people explains it well. if not, i'll just search about it on google or post a comment there.

anyway, i'm really really happy that they are adding esperanto to duolingo. it's not just another esperanto course for me, this is going to expand the esperanto community drastically. many people are holding off learning esperanto because they are waiting for a duolingo course for it.
