As there is no way to subscribe to a forum by email, I tried to subscribe to RSS of a forum, for instance Novajxoj, using Firefox live bookmarks. But when I see the feed, it has a lot of Re:... posts. How can I get rid of them and see only new topics?

I don't need all replies (Re:...) because I will better subscribe to a topic by email if I consider it interesting.

I don't think so, but you can click to see a list of all the new posts within a forum.

Maybe the developers of lernu.net should change RSS feed to include only new topics and not to include all new replies. If a person is interested to receive notifications of new replies in a topic, he can subscribe to it by email clicking Subscribe at the bottom of the topic.

I was thinking it would be nice if they had a feature that would let you know if someone responded to you in conversation. Or if someone posted in a thread you had already commented on. Maybe I'm thinking too much Facebook...

Furthermore, it would be neat if they had an app as well. Then we could get notifications and set the settings like we like. Then again, maybe I'm just too app-y...

Err, this function exists at least. Just subscribe to the individual thread after you comment on it. Or am I misunderstanding?

Yes, you can subscribe to a thread by clicking "Aboni fadenon" in the bottom of the thread. Unfortunately there is no way to subscribe to only-new threads in a forum.
