Seven to eight years ago I subtitled the trailers of several movies, all of which are still on YouTube today: www.youtube.com/user/noelekim/videos

Although a trailer is copyrighted property, a trailer is not a film, but an *advertisement*. Since we are helping to advertise the filmmakers' product for their profit and at no cost to them, it seems they don't see a reason to complain!

No most large companies don't care, free advertising you know. Youtube moderators who discover copyrighted content on another user will ticket the video as "content from third party", this is so that you wont make money on other peoples creations. If you protest and say you are the original owner they might remove the video, if not all is usually good.

That is one thing that irks me when I see ads on videos that use copyrighted material - they are making money off of the work of someone else.
