How do you say "is"?

I went into the vortaro and i typed in "is" but it gave me a translation for "is it" instead. What is the direct translation for "it"?

oops, i said "it" at the last part of the OP. sorry, still meant "is"!

"estas"

Ŝi estas bela. = She is pretty.
La domo estas mia. = The house is mine.
Li estas strangulo. = He is a weirdo.

Kompreneble, la traduko estas sama por "are" kaj "am".

Mi estas Esperantisto. = I am an Esperantist.
Miaj fratoj estas frenezaj. = My brothers are crazy.

Ĉu tio helpas al vi?
