I knew Esperanto very late, just a few years ago. I learn and promote Esperanto is not for peace. The brothers and sisters of the same parents can also quarrel. A language cannot be a tool for peace.

Pardon me for the strange view. i learn Esperanto for the brain and save the cost of learning second language. I am not a language lover, it is difficult for me to sit in the class room for 12 years to learn English.

Esperanto moves on with the time, it is not hanging there permanently for the peace. Peace can only achieve with equality and tolerance.

I think the real point with the peace aspect is simply "if we don't speak the same language, we can't even begin to understand each other properly". Think of all the misinformation that's out there simply because we can't get info from the real source and have to go through a translation of a translation of something someone overheard lol!
