robbkvasnak:In theory one may address UNESCO in Esperanto. Not only in UNESCO, but also in UN but alas, the representatives of UEA to UN and UNESCO did not speak in Esperanto during the conference.
In the internet age, one can watch the UN in progress via the live UN Web TV. Did Modi, the prime minister of India speak in English or his nation language ?
Read the regulations of most international bodies, they did not mention, the members must use the specified languages.
The whole thing did not do well today, it is because the Esperanto speakers did not follow up many resolutions, manifesto, declarations made by the international organisations.
The esperantujo thinks that those org which supported the use of Esperanto should and must do but without knowing the passing of resolutions were made by majority but not by all. The World UN Federation Association page has the Korean language but no Esperanto. Is it because the UN secretary is from Korea ?
If the esperanto speakers can make a change in the way of promoting esperanto, the language is already widely used in the world, especially the resolution of UNESCO 1985 is so strong, and it is 30 years in 2015 but less people interested in it.
I am going to print the T shirt with this
