How can I do this?
There is a website that helps people read Arabic. Each word is highlighted in red when the word is pronounced. Here is the link. Click play in the top left corner. As the audio is read, the words are highlighted in red.
I was thinking of making a similar website for Esperanto. Does anyone know what program could be used to do this? Or, even what this type of technology is called? I tried Googling "read-along programs" but I didn't find anything useful. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what specific technology to look at, but perhaps screen readers for the visually impaired might be a place to start. I would suspect that Esperanto pronunciation would not be very good in most applications, though.

The site you linked uses this package: soundmanager2-nodebug-jsmin.
This might be a good point to start looking.
