I cannot understand why these two sentences are different, besides the -n.
1. Kiu amas la patro
2. Kiun amas la patro
My study book describes #1 as who loves the father, and #2 as who does the father love. Please help!
Dankon!

My question is why the first example isn't "kiu amas la patron?"

deltasalmon:The -n marks the accusative or direct object of the sentence. In the first example "Kiu" would be the subject of the sentence so that's the person doing the loving. If you add the -n it makes it accusative which means "kiu" is the person being loved.Exactly right! Patro in the first example should have been Patron, that is what was confusing me. Thank you for the clear answer!
