Sorry that I don't feel quite up to posting this in E-o in the "About the website" forum.

My personal computer setup for reading lernu! is Firefox 36 on Windows 7 Pro. I use the FVD Speed Dial for pages I access frequently. One of them is http://en.lernu.net. That gets me to the English main page. However, just within the last few days, when I login, I am redirected after the login to the http://eo.lernu.net in E-o. This isn't really a problem, as I have sufficient reading knowledge to do what I want to do anyway, but it is completely unexpected behavior that just started. I am wondering if the site has changed some of its internal settings.

I don't think anything has changed. Check the lernu.net cookies on your machine and set the field lernu-lingvo to en and after logging in you should stay on the en subdomain.

Notice the space between "[" and "]"!
It's "[ ]", not "[x]".

It's just a web-way to denote negation; i.e. the thread does not belong in here.

The electronic brain that governs Lernu has obviously worked out that your Esperanto is getting better Bartlett, and decided to upgrade your preferred language setting.

The 'brain' has finvenkista tendencies.

Same thing happens to me periodically, probably once or twice a year. I just go in and change it back to my preferred setting.

That may be. ridulo.gif As I mentioned, there is no real problem, as I can read the E-o interface with no difficulty. It is just that it is(/was) completely unexpected behavior.
