Does anyone know any good software similar to freelang/interlex etc... that runs on linux? Or works thru wine if neccessary.
I am not looking for flashcards (tho, these programs usually do that too) what I am primarily interested in is the dictionary of your own feature.

Booksie:Well, freelang/wesay are out, I can't get it to run on wine..and wesay's linux build is compiled higher....drat.I bet the average Esperanto speaker is more likely to run linux than windows. I am starting to notice a lot of computer nerds around here.

It doesn't have to be fancy, just a good program to build a learning dictionary...

(So, of course, I couldn't recommend a program.) But, can you tell me more about how one uses a BYOD in language learning? How would it differ from using existing the vortaroj?

You have all the words/grammar rules/pronounciation info/notes etc...as you learn it, entered into the dictionary.
(If a particular explanation/example is more understandable to you, this way you have it there, too)
It allows you to customize it, and is a good way to keep track of your learning, identify gaps in types, problem areas that might otherwise slip by, and just generally makes it easier...
A premade dictionary is just a list of things most of which you don't know yet. It is good for looking things up.
I am terrible at explaining this, tho the lack-of-coffee isn't helping, sorry.
