nornen:The set of features which are marked on nouns or verbs vary between the different languages. The existence of a certain feature in one language, doesn't mean that other languages cannot work without this feature.
For instance in some Spanish thread of this forum, a user said that the difference between "ser" and "estar" (both "esti" in Eo) is so fundamental that its lack is really a problem.
Some might argue that a V-T-distinction is very important, or the difference between singular and plural "you".
Among those who deal with constructed international auxiliary languages, there is a tendency toward the attitude, My language has such and such a feature, so I do not understand how any well behaved auxiliary language can lack it. I myself have observed this especially in Interlingua (as well as Lingua Franca Nova), in which users try to "pull" the language in the direction of their own native tongue.

What do you mean, this language does not have plural articles? What do you mean, this language does not have progressive tenses? How can any well-behaved language possibly function without them? What do you mean, this language does not have an irrealis mood? What do you mean, this language does not unambiguously mark aspect? And on and on and on. I recall from over a half century ago in my elementary lessons why adolescent US learners simply could not understand why Je suis allant was not perfectly good French for English I am going.

In other words, if it is not a relexification of my language it simply cannot be legitimate. This is an attitude we must overcome.

I had to look it up also because I wasn't sure. It means Quoted for Truth.
