Uvi:Texans .. dismay at how "small" our McDonald's Big Macs are.The most calorific "Mac" item I've ever seen was in Quebec - the "McCrepe". Imagine something that feels oily or greasy and combines sausage, pancakes and maple syrup in one item. That's how not to go on a diet! I wonder what Texans would make of it - or the fried potatoes with cheese (poteen) - which I did not try, bedaŭrinde. Maybe another day.

Frankouche:How can you (all) eat your (of all of you) Bigmacs ?I don't know what French big macs are like (maybe very greasy? Or maybe not greasy enough! ) or what U.S. big macs are like (the stats make them look fattier but only by a few grams) but eating them is quite simple:
1. Open mouth
2. Insert food
3. Let taste buds slowly become accustomed to the McGoodness
4. If wanting to retain slimmish figure, do not repeat process every day that week.
(overall the process is practically identical to eating croissants or meat pies, only much less expensive and much more convenient).
(Coincidentally you can actually get croissants (although desert ones) at McDonalds in Australia (at least ones with a McCafé))
Miland:Actually I like big Macs!Mi ankaŭ!
I'm still waiting for a "McRoo" burger though, considering Roo meat is healthier. The problem is probably that cooking roo meat can be a tiny bit smelly despite the taste of cooked roo meat, therefore some of the young cooks might start procrastinating about cooking it

ceigered:I'm still waiting for a "McRoo" burgerI guess if Texans and Mexicans have McTacos and Quebecois have McCrepes, it's only fair for Aussies to have McRoos. From what you say, maybe you could have young people who misbehave have to cook them as punishment (I thought of calling them "McSkippy", but maybe better not).

On the topic of McDonalds, I think the Australian Macca's food is generally smaller than the American counterparts as well, but probably healthier . I'm still out for trying the McTeriyaki in Japan anyway. Here in Montreal, some McD's serve Teriyaki salad. Thai and Japanese food are very big here. I find it quite yummy too *stomach growls*

The most calorific "Mac" item I've ever seen was in Quebec - the "McCrepe". Imagine something that feels oily or greasy and combines sausage, pancakes and maple syrup in one item. That's how not to go on a diet! I wonder what Texans would make of it - or the fried potatoes with cheese (poteen) - which I did not try.The McCrepe is one of those oddities indeed. Quite frankly, I don't know why McDonald's even bothers with breakfasts in Quebec, being that there are so many restaurant chains exclusively specialized in breakfasts.
Quebecers are, however, very known for mixing salty foods with sweet foods on the same plate. The "typical" hearty breakfast has beef sausages, bacon, potatoes, eggs along with a crete (pancake) topped with fruits and maple syrup. I personally can't stomach maple syrup, but I have to admit that the rest helps cope with winters at -45 celcius. Personally, though, I prefer slices of smoked salmon on a bagel with some fruits on the side.
The poutine is a Quebec "delicacy", lol: home made fried potatoes, topped with melted mozzarella cheese and some beef sauce. It's so heavy it makes you want to sleep afterwards But it's definitely not recommended for people with high cholesterol
Come to think of it though, Quebecers seem to like sweet food overall. Even the Thai & Chinese food and sauces are sweetened when the recipees are adapted to the local market. It's a bummer for spicy eaters like me, lol

ceigered:I don't know what French big macs are likeI'm sorry, i never eat one (yes it's true), it disgusts me !
At your (all of you) favorite restaurant, i prefer boxchicken (the new race of chicken) and naturally our famous french fries which come from Belgium
Yes sometime, in the morning, i eat "croissant" but good ones are hard to find (when i wake up it's too late), and lebanese galette we make : "manushey".

Miland:(I thought of calling them "McSkippy", but maybe better not). That is a brilliant naming idea! You should apply to McDonalds to become their marketing director!
Frankouche:I'm sorry, i never eat one (yes it's true), it disgusts me !Oh well, there's always something we all don't like I personally can't stand potato salad (although i haven't found that at a McDonalds or café yet! ).
Also, anyone know the Esperanto for "croissant"? It's not in the English lernu vortaro nor the French one, and I looked in my own dictionary trying to add it and found that it's not in there either (unless "croi" comes after "crot" for some irregular reason I've never come across in my life before).
Krŭasanto? Krisanto? Krojsanto? (or "Krosonto" with a South Australian accent )

ceigered:Maybe a plan to provoke demonstrations by fans of S, drive them out and start a McRoo's chain!Miland:(I thought of calling them "McSkippy"..That is a brilliant naming idea!..
ceigered:Also, anyone know the Esperanto for "croissant"?I asked this question here.
A suggestion: kornopano. But no doubt you can think of alternatives. There's an idea for a poll thread!
