I'm also interested in universal accessibility - i.e. so that any webmaster can integrate the central dictionary into his own web site. - and more features than lernu.net offers.

Oh wait, I see what you mean. Yes, that's the only wiki feature I'm interested in... but that is its defining feature, as I see it. One other thing: I don't really like the wiki message board approach as you see at wikipedia. I think that for discussions, a more structured message board is appropriate. Hence I think there should be a comment list for dictionary entries, rather than a wiki discussion page.
On the other hand, a wiki is much easier to implement than a good message board or even a comment list.

I do not know the accuracy of it but it does claim 15000 words. Printed out, it is like 250 pages though and even through copy and paste and columns and resizing, i only got it down to 170 pages (which I wouldn't want to print out). But it seems to be good from what I have seen and can be used on the computer screen.

Now that I have a full time job, I might not work much on it though.

Qwertie:(this is the English version of a message I posted in the Esperanto-language forum)Saluton!
It's been bothering me for a long time that I don't have a good Esperanto-English dictionary. I have no paper one, so I've been using only the one here at Lernu, which, if I may say so, is very poor. It lacks even the most basic information, such as verb transitivity and gramatical classes of roots (/a, /o, /i, etc.)
Who wants to help me?
The dictionary I learned the most from is Butler's "Esperanto-English Dictionary" which, unfortunately, is "nehavebla" at the moment. The UEA katalogo has an entry for it: http://katalogo.uea.org/katalogo.php?PHPSESSID=7... Its entries are much like you described.
For English-Esperanto, the best out there so far is Mr. Benson's dictionary available from the ELNA bookstore.

For English-Esperanto, the best out there so far is Mr. Benson's dictionary available from the ELNA bookstore.Although with Benson's dictionary you have to be super careful of "bensonajxoj", as we call them at the MIT Esperanto club. Words that Benson basically made up, and are not recognized by the Esperanto community at large.
