I ask partly out of curiosity and partly because once I've finished the Duolingo tree I'd like to continue with Lernu and wondering what to expect. (BTW, I completed Anna Pana and other basic courses and started Anna Renkontas but only did one lesson).
I know I'd probably be better asking this in the Esperanto forum, but I'm not confident there yet and, while I am definitely progressing, translation is still hard work and lots of referencing vortaroj.

However, a few days ago, I noticed the Esperanto beta course on Duolingo, and decided to treat myself. In the last five days I've completed 15 out of the 44 skills in tree, and I LOVE it! I've never found Esperanto so easy. The mix of reading, writing, and listening is wonderful.
So, I guess that's not really answering your question, since I haven't used this website since long before starting the Duolingo course. But I do hope to return to the courses here after finishing Duolingo. I'm confident that the courses here will be a lot easier then than they were last time I tried. I already understand when to use the -n ending way better than I ever have before.

BlueWolf79:I'm curious as to what kind of answers you are looking for, since you are already successfully using both.Looking for anyone who may have completed Duolingo and dived into Lernu again. I haven't really done anything here except this forum. Although interested to hear all opinions of course.

I have been studying Esperanto for just over 1 year with Lernu. I would say that Duolingo is better for learning and Lernu is better for practising.
I am very grateful for Duolingo because I felt like I was hitting a plateau with my learning. I felt like I was stuck just under the intermediate level. Duolingo really helps my confidence and it is fun. I feel like I am now breaking through the barrier to the intermediate level.
