Erinja and her colleagues were nice enough to let us borrow their name, so the Esperanto Association of Britain is running Lernu and Lernu Plu from its headquarters on the weekend of August 15th and 16th. The cost is £17, for which you get lunch on both days and refreshments throughout. We'll chuck in the tuition free.
You'll need to sort out your own accommodation and get yourself there (we can arrange a taxi from the hotel if you'd like), and you'll need to pay for your food and drink when we go to a restaurant on the Saturday night, but it's not a bad deal, right?
You'll be surrounded by Esperanto culture, since Lernu Plu takes place from the Butler Library, home to 18,000 volumes spanning the 128 years of Esperanto. (Lernu is next door, though you'll be coming in here for food and mingling.) I'm currently sitting here typing this - that's my laptop with this partially typed post on the screen before the idea hit me that I should probably take some photos. And here's another shot. See that ceiling-mounted projector? We'll be using that.
If you're here, you'll be able to buy your own books. We have loads, including dictionaries (Wells, PIV), la Mastro de l'ringoj, Star in a Night Sky, Fundamenta krestomatio ... and we have loads and loads of second-hand books too. Most of them are on sale for £1. (We always have some on eBay, by the way.)
If you're under 25 and resident in the UK, I'll probably be able to cover all your costs. (That includes travel, accommodation, the restaurant meal, and the pint you can buy me ) Drop me a message if you're interested before booking and I'll see what I can sort out.
Here's the course site, where you can find a few more details and make a booking if you're interested. Any questions? Ask me

Noddy:How often do you run the weekends?Hi, Noddy -
This is a new initiative, the second session of the year following a successful trial a few months ago. I'm hoping to move to at least three sessions per year going forward. If this one is as successful as the first (and it might be, since three people from Duolingo signed up today after I promoted it on their FB page yesterday, on top of the six or so who signed up independently), I think I'll try to be all organised and pre-set next year's dates well in advance.
Because we're in holiday season currently and I'm booked out for all of October with higher-level courses, it might not be possible to do another one for 2015 ... although November might be an option. I need to consult my calendar as well as check with our other teachers.
I'll certainly give lots more notice next time, though!

Miland:What an impressive advert. Good luck, Tim!Cheers, Miland! Got a bunch of Duolingo-learners coming along plus several of our home-grown folk too. The problem is always that I don't have time to prepare my material much in advance, so I'm going to be busy in the evenings next week once we're back from Lithuania.
Noddy:Thanks for the info! You're welcome, Noddy. I might see you at one, maybe
erinja:You never did take us up on our offer to help advertise your summer course! Be sure to let me know next time, you can post it here and we can send out a message.Ha! Well ... you're assuming I know anything about it, Erin! It's not one of mine and if I don't have any details, I can't draw up an advert or answer questions. The feedback is always good, especially the bit about adjusting the course content to the learners' needs, but people want some more detail before they commit to something lengthier like that.
There will be a couple of paroligaj sessions in October (London and Sheffield) similar to our beginners' events. I've built the webpage but not drawn up the notes yet. Once I have, I'll be posting on here
