I have heard that Chinese students can't speak English after 4 years of University, in spite of having a small amount of exposure throughout their life. They seem to have little trouble with Esperanto.

Watch this video.

One Chinese Esperanto speaker described Esperanto as a linguistic handshake. When two people shake hands they both reach out halfway. When two people speak Esperanto they have both made the effort to learn a relatively easy, neutral language instead of one person making the huge effort to learn the other person's difficult national language and the other person making no effort at all except to correct his/her interlocutor's errors.

English is really tough. We have billions of Idioms. We have billions of exceptions. The way we talk is extremely culturally based. Check this out:

To say that Esperanto is just as hard as any other European language is incorrect.

In my personal opinion, Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese people have the easiest time learning Esperanto, which could potentially make it Euro slash Australian slash African slash North and south American centric.

Every one is worried about the Chinese people learning Esperanto. No one is ever concerned that they have to learn English, which is up to ten times harder. That's very funny. If you want a decent opinion, ask any Chinese whether Esperanto is really that hard for him/her. Don't look for the answer on the English forum.

Why only concern about Chinese in China, what about the Thai, Cambodian etc ?

If anyone is still so ignorance about Esperanto is Euroecntric, please tell them to learn Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Melayu in Malaysia.

Read the minor research from Malaysia Esperanto Studies Group.

Do learn more languages which are out of European zone and see how Esperanto is the best language for them instead of English language.

We take china for example because that is the language with most native speakers . We can also take swahili or hindu .

It is harder for a Chinese person to learn Esperanto than (let's say) an Italian person. However, that does not mean it's not extremely easy for a Chinese person to learn Esperanto.

Strange, native speakers of China, in which language ?

The internet provides the chance to take a look at the world but still many just believe in the official data. There are few hundreds of languages in China, with the current still available ,the tai in Yunnan province, mongolian in the north, countless of dialects, for example in Fujian province, the north ,east, south, west have different languages despite emperor Qing destroyed all the writing, they write in chinese characters do not mean they are pronounced in the similar to the pu tong hua.

In India, there is not only on Hindu, either.
