To most of people we are strange like some egsotic spicies . When you meet other esperantis how do you react ?

The thing is, I reckon most don't meet other Esperantists. Only on forums, then they have an argument about grammar.

Like Vestitor said, I've never met one. A poll would be interesting. "Have you ever met an Esperantoist?"

It sounds like esperantists are unintersted for finding new frieds . More like introverts .

I've never come across an Esperantist outside meetings, though I remember that in Holland in 2008, during a trip (part of the antaŭkongreso) to a dam (the kind that's built by engineers) one lady recognised my green star because someone in her family was an Esperantist.

Then again, most Esperantists don't wear any symbol, not even during meetings or congresses, so we wouldn't know.

+1. I want to sew something like that, but similar to the Esperanto flag.

Individuals learning Esperanto in isolation without contact with other speakers is a really recent phenomenon.

For the bulk of Esperanto's history this would not have happened. The only other period when this would not have taken place would have been in the very early years when the no of speakers was tiny, and local Esperanto clubs not established.

Two factors are significant here. The first is that the internet has greatly facilitated learning Esperanto without face to face contact. And the second is the falling out of fashion of the local Esperanto club and the whole idea of socialising at organised regular meetings with others sharing your interest.

Why spend hundreds of dollars to find the esperanto speakers in universal congress ?

Esperanto is meant to be the second language of each home if you love the future generation.

Talk to the members of the family for the better brain building.

But rarely, the esperantujo talks about this . malgajo.gif

Yes, we are exotic like a Lamborghini. When I meet other Esperantists, I say "Wow. They do exist."

Just kidding. I have never met an Esperantist. I feel shy and I don't want to be judged for my bad Esperanto. Also, I don't want to bore people to death while they wait for me to mentally formulate my sentences, and then try to say it out loud.
