Erinja, please explain a bit more the rationale for marking as wrong a correct answer changed to another correct answer. If someone thought they were writing the sentence better it is a blow to have it marked wrong. I'd find that confusing in any case.
At that level one is still managing between right and wrong, rather than right, also right, but not correct and plain wrong.

Vestitor:The poll shows that no-one has passed (or taken) B as compared to A and C. Maybe there are things tripping people up in that exam? The instructions say to correct it only if it is wrong, so it should be clear that you don't change it if it's correct. The instructions also say that the sentence may have zero errors in it, so that's also a possibility. I don't think this style of question is on the A level exam, only B and C. At any rate these exams are not for brand new beginners, even the A level requires a lot of knowledge.

You also have to remember that these exams are automatically corrected, not corrected by a person. The questions need to be structured enough that you can program in just a couple of correct responses and have that be sufficient. If you allow test takers to correct what is not wrong, it opens up a whole world of answers that the programmers cannot guess and program in, so in fact, you'd end up increasing the instances of correct answers marked wrong.

As to the question, I thought there would have been a number of people who had taken the B exam who hadn't yet taken C. Couldn't it be that people have stumbled on B and just waited to improve and then take C?

mbalicki:Thanks, Alkanadi, for reminding me of the Lernu exams! I've passed the basic level in 14 minutes with just two stupid mistakes and now I'm waiting for my copy of “Kontakto”.I've just received my copy. It's not the best newspaper I've ever seen, but is very interesing and I want to save that for my children
I was waiting since 27.07.

Alkanadi:It means that everyone who has passed level B has also passed Level C. This probably means that B is too hard like you said. No, actually it means that only 20 people filled out the survey, which is a very small number, so it doesn't mean anything about everyone who has passed B.
Some people take C without ever bothering to take B. Some people took up to B but didn't take the survey. Some people only took A and never attempted B.
People need to pass the C level to become a tutor at lernu, so if you are an experienced Esperantist who wants to become a tutor, all you need to do is take the C exam, you can skip A and B because they are not relevant to your requirement for becoming a tutor.
