I just downloaded Telegram. I chose it because it supports sending voice messages. It is fully encrypted also. If you set a username then nobody will see your phone number. I would love it if someone can add me to an Esperanto group or link your usernames here so that I can create a new group (if one doesn't already exist).

My username is: Lumo5

Update: There is an Esperanto group already:

I use HelloTalk, an app made to chat with strangers in languages you want to learn. Besides all the usual chat functions, you can send voice messages, correct each other's sentences with (or without) commentary, it shows you the time in the other person's timezone (unless they turned that off), and you can even make phone calls if you want, without ever having to talk to person or exchange phone numbers or whatever. You can just search people based on what language they speak, what language they want to learn, nationality, age, gender, etc.

It's been really great for my Japanese so far. Plenty Japanese people that want to talk with foreigners and/or learn English from you. But sadly the amount of Esperanto speakers that are not beginners is not very large, so I have not yet found a good Esperanto partner in the 1 or 2 days since I've tried.

Feel free to add me on HelloTalk (my username is on my Lernu profile)

I have also installed Telegram (username: Rajzin) if you want to add me there or to any groups, but if you use/are planning to use both apps I prefer to have one-on-one chats on HelloTalk.

The Esperanto group that you linked is good, although it has quite a few trolls and people that don't speak Esperanto at all and just post in Portuguese...
I just added you to the Nova Esperanta Grupo which personally I think has a better, more active crowd. They split off from the other group a while ago because of the degradation of the first group.

Isn't there a way to ban people who troll?

Thanks for adding me to the new group. I don't want to practice Portuguese.

Thank you! I'm still very dependent of dictionaries and example sentences, though.
And you are right, I'm a bit of a linguistics nerd. lango.gif

This is my favourite group. I like hearing people talk. If anyone wants to join then just click this link on your phone (assuming that you already have telegram)
