Reading threads

It is nice to see what threads I have already read. It would be even nicer to see what messages within the threads, which I have already read.

I usually have to re-read the messages to find the place where I left off.

Yeah, this is also the main feature I miss from other forums. Many forums allow you to skip directly to the first post since you last visited the thread, AND they also mark the new post(s) with an icon or color. (Having at least the second feature would help a lot)

But I have no idea how much trouble it would be to program this feature in from scratch. I imagine it could take a lot of effort depending on the current architecture of the Lernu forums.

The eternally-awaited revamp of Lernu may feature something like this -- any admin around to comment? ...

Come here It also has the feature of "ignore". With one click you never have to read anything from a poster who upsets you....and in fact, is just shy of required.

lernu's forums were programmed from scratch, they aren't based on any of the various forum software packages around online.

Yeah, I kind of had that impression. There's quite a few things ever so slightly different from the way most forums do or have things.

That would be perfect. But, I think Lernu is literally programmed from scratch and is original so I don't think they have the time to add such an awesome feature.
