If a textual chat suffices for now, drop by in the IRC-Channel ##esperanto on Freenode (or use a Webclient).
I do use XMPP, but i think Chatrooms like in IRC are more appropriate for this (yes, there are MUCs in XMPP, but one still needs an XMPP-Account).

Give me the MUC-address and i'll take a look. But i doubt that you can convince the ~100 users of the IRC-channel to go to that MUC.

but i don't really care about conferences. i prefer to speak with people in contact list.

Download Telegram. There are several Esperanto groups.
