Language is almost a pre-requisite to unity, and by extension, peace.

When you learn the language of a friend, or someone you have a romantic relationship with, you not only learn to understand that person, but many other people whose culture, habits and views they share. It helps with understanding, even if it doesn't mean you'll immediately agree with everything. Yet, once you have a connection with different people, you generally feel less automatically antagonistic to different ways and ideas; usually because the barrier is lowered.Tempodivalse:I think language is only one of several factors involved.Language is a vital first step in uniting people.
