The changes are live. What is stopping someone from writing a bunch of swear words? Doesn't it have to go through some type of approval process?
Also, how do I create a new article on wikipedia?

.Then, be sure what name you want to give the article.
Then write this name in the search-bar. They'll tell you "la pagho xxx ankorau ne ekzistas che Vikipedio" and a bit under it "Kreu la paghon xxx!", with xxx as a red link.
Click on this red link, you'll arrive on the page "Kreado de xxx".
Write your text in the text field,
click "Konservi shanghojn", and that was it!

Doesn't it have to go through some type of approval process?Changes to articles made by new users need to be "flagged", or approved, by established users who have the "editor" userright (sort of like "moderator" on forums). You can still see the unapproved changes in the meantime, it just won't show up by default (you need to click "show unapproved changes" ). In practice, this is enough to keep out the riff-raff.
