I don't think the color's "MUST" be direct descriptions. (etymology)
for example
Fuzzy Wuzzy
Beaver
Tumbleweed
Timberwolf
macandcheese
coined by the creators of crayola,
naming colors like "oranĝkolora" is named after things that might be useful.

It seem's even though I have been studying EO for 7 years I am not that great, perhaps from my opportunity (although I have been to NASK)
New websites like bliubliu.com will help my comprehension a lot better. and duolingo may internalize my grammatical subconscious understanding.
But my point is memrise.com thier are many contributors that have basic colors lists on memrise,
My original request is that maybe I'd like to compile an advanced list of Colors on memrise.com And that wiki page was the most advanced list that I have seen.
But just because You are "First" does not mean it is right, or will become the "usage" but this is a constructed language,
by what rules does one need to have a naming convention.

It's important to come up with some good conventions for naming your variables
so that they are easy to remember.
For example, you can postfix color names with -color:
https://davidwalsh.name/sass-color-variables-dont-suck
Wouldn't it be nice if you could name your variables after colors like you were trying to do at the start, but without all the naming difficulty? You can using Name That Color! Using this tool, rename your color variables.
$lime: #b0eb00;
$bright-red: #b30015;
$dark-blue: #2a00b3;
$deep-cerulean: #0077b3;
$bondi-blue: #00b0b3;
$cyan: #24fbff;
$heliotrope: #8a7dff;
$silver-chalice: #a6a6a6;
$scorpion: #595959;
$tundora: #444;
$mine-shaft: #363636;
$cod-gray: #111;
Now your variables are named after colors, but they're unique and memorable.
so the above link recomends a website that names the wikipedia EO Flag "green color"

sergejm:I just took the list (and translations) from Wikipedia. (Where Malhelflava is the translation for DarkYellow #f0f000.) But it seems that malhelflava appears too much when flava is more appropriate.Aiwha:I say not about it. I would name #ebfe03 lemonlimea or simple flava, if I don't have such name in Esperanto, but not malhelflava.sergejm:I have about 280 French color names, 150 Esperanto color names and 1100 English color names.
There are errors, for example,
#ebfe03 - lemonlime - malhelflava?
This is bright (hela) color.
It's not (only) a translation problem (although I agree that lemonlimea or citronverda would be better). The RGB values associated with malhelflava are too close to the ones associated with flava.
I tweaked the values, it should be more acceptable now.
