I see Orthohawk has used the comment section on this article as another platform for his rant. I get he's annoyed, but does he have to blast every comment section in the WWW (well, maybe I exaggerate slightly) with all the things he doesn't like about Lernu! and the Esperanto community? >_<

If you post long rants in the comment section of an article, about things only peripherally related to the article, then you come off as unhinged and people tend to ignore what you have to say.

Such people usually lose interest eventually if you ignore them. No one hears of Chris Culver anymore, and he was far higher in profile than this individual ever was. He has moved on to other things.

I think his comment is really hilarious. He is complaining about all the things he did himself: "slanderous language, mockery, and bullying"

He is even creating his own esperantido: "One intended use of Govro is as the official or bridge language for the European Union."

Hmm, well, I can't imagine the EU taking the slightest notice of it, but it is an interesting project; certainly better-developed than mine! That url at first glance looked like "govro for thee u", which momentarily confused me. senkulpa.gif

Turning to a common custom on Zamenhof day, of buying an Esperanto book: anyone made any decisions? I just ordered a specialist glossary.

I joined the UEA on Tuesday. It seemed like an appropriate day.

One of the amusing things about that page is the list of 'problems' the ido is intended to solve. Like: 'plural use of you' (how very unexpected) and 'alleged sexism'; not sexism, but 'alleged' sexism. From a character who doesn't even recognise gender dysphoria.

Ah well.

I might sound like an asshole now, but could you (not you, Christa, in personal) please leave that to the Europeans?

I wouldn't dare making suggestions towards US-citizens or Canadians to e.g. make Spanish their official language though it would somehow make sense. Just because it's totally none of my business.

I am an EU citizen (so long as Britain remains in the EU), and I have no objection to what sounded like a legitimate opinion on Christa's part.
