I tend to agree with Bill. In nearly all cases, the slight additional meaning added by using the more complicated form is insignificant in comparison to the ready comprehension lost by the readers/listeners. I know that even though I have used this form a number of times in the past, whenever I come across another example somewhere else it always causes me to pause for a moment to remember exactly what it means. My opinion is the same as Bills - that in most cases if you replaced the complex form with the simpler form it would be easier to read and no important meaning would be lost.

I disagree that we should never use it, though, even if Zamenhof wasn't crazy about it. He didn't formally forbid it, and it is a valid consequence of his own rules. Therefore it is allowable, and usable. I think that while in most cases it is unnecessary, there will be times when you really do want that extra shade of meaning. And there it is.
