I have been working through Ivy Kellerman's "The Complete Grammar of Esperanto", which I'm finding really effective and enjoyable to use. The only problem is that the book doesn't include an answer key, so I did a Google search and found this answer key by Kellerman, which seems to be all that's available. But unfortunately this answer key only goes up to chapter 17, and even more unfortunately, it seems to be full of errors.

Now, I have only been studying Esperanto for about two weeks. I am probably learning more quickly than the average person because I am a polyglot who has previously studied several other, much more complicated languages. But even so, I certainly cannot call myself advanced, and I'm quite disappointed to find this answer key full of errors that even someone at my level can easily notice. Or could it be that I'm wrong, and these are actually not errors?

I'm going to list the sentences I think have been incorrectly translated in the answer key, along with what I think the correct translations should be, and I'd like to ask more advanced Esperantists to either confirm or deny my suspicions. I would be very grateful for your help.

Lesson VII

15. Robert looked through the window, and saw us in the pleasant garden.
Robert rigardas tra la fenestro, kaj vidis nin en la agrabla ĝardeno.
> Robert rigardis tra la fenestro, kaj vidis nin en la agrabla ĝardeno.

Lesson VIII

13. Did you see the doves near the flowers in front of (before) you?
Ĉu vi vidis la kolomboj apud la floroj antaŭ vi?

15. I sat on the bench in the garden, and began to read an interesting book.
Mi sidas sur la benko en la ĝardeno, kaj komencis legi interesan libron.

5. We praised their flowers yesterday, and they gave them to us.

9. He looked at him with greater interest, and saw a letter in his pocket.
Li rigardis lin per pli granda intereso, kaj vidis leteron en sia poŝo.
> Li rigardis lin per pli granda intereso, kaj vidis leteron en lia poŝo. (It is clear from the context that the letter is in the boy's pocket, not the king's.)

14. (The) king Frederick wished to be kinder (pli bona) to the boy.
La reĝo Frederiko volis estos pli bona al la knabo.
> La reĝo Frederiko volis esti pli bona al la knabo.

17. They walked with great care, and the younger servant did not hear them.
Ili marŝis per granda zorgo, kaj la pli juna servisto ne aŭdis ilin.
> Ili marŝis kun granda zorgo, kaj la pli juna servisto ne aŭdis ilin.

I think you're right on all of them. However, in XII 1. venton might be acceptable as well.

A few comments:

VIII.15 sidiĝis ("sat down" ) is better in my opinion
X.10 pordon is also okay; it implies both through and beyond
XVI.12 forpelos is less exact but also grammatical
XVII.17 per implies that the walking itself was difficult
