I bought the new edition when it came out a few years ago. Needed it for the updates etc but I am glad I'm no longer a beginner because the grammar guide is reduced in scope compared to the old one.

Vestitor:Is it the one with a large A and Z on the cover? I also have a copy of that, and same ones from the series for Dutch and French which also have good concise grammars. They are printed on good quality, thick paper.Jes, ankaux mi acxetis plia vortaro per J.C. Wells, so mi nun havas du Vortaro por lernas kiam mi estas for de la komputilon.
Basically I got two cheap and in good condition dictionaries with grammar lessons. I recommend both if you can find them, though do check which edition and year it came out if possible. The J.C. Wells one is the ninth edition and its dated 1985 so computer and tech speak is a little lacking.
Also the week after I got both the company overhauled their IT systems, everything related to my job now takes twice as long, but the firewall no longer blocks language sites so I now have access to the internet anyway. Oh well its good to not be tied down to gadgets.

Vestitor:I just checked my Wells dictionary and it's the 1979 fourth edition. The computer references are practically non-existent.I have a (physically petite) hardbound copy of the (1969) Wells Teach Yourself E-o/English dictionary, in which I penned many notes. I paid USD $2.95 for it in a used book store, if you can believe that, about 1972. Because of its small size and hard binding, it is convenient, if not quite up to date with the most recent vocabulary items. I also have a copy of the 2010 Wells dictionary, published by Mondial.

I have another pocket dictionary (Esperanto-Dutch/Dutch-Esperanto) published by Meulenhoff. It's from 1926, but this is the revised 1952 edition with the, then recent, new Dutch spelling. I paid 75 cents for this and it's the one I carry about with me.
Second-hand Esperanto dictionaries almost never turn up in bookshops; either that or I go to the wrong bookshops.
