How would you translate into E-o:

Ha Ha!

Ho ho!

Hee hee!

Heh heh!

Hmm!

Mmmm!

Aw!

mnlg (Kwerekana umwidondoro) 1 Ntwarante 2008 13:14:53

"haha", "hoho", "hihi", "hehe", "mm.", "mm!", "hoo".

richardhall (Kwerekana umwidondoro) 1 Ntwarante 2008 13:21:18

Nonsense! "Hmm!" has to be translated into E-o as 'Mmm!'. rideto.gif

mnlg:"haha", "hoho", "hihi", "hehe", "mm.", "mm!", "hoo".

Aw! as intended here is as the American 'Aw, that's too bad.' A sympathetic Aw! So Hoo! to drive someone away is not what I mean.

One could use Mmmm! in the sense of Hmmm!, but that was not my intention here. Here. Hmmm! is intended to be an act of wondering, while Mmmm! pertains more to relishing something.

No exclamation marks?

I think that has to do with tone more than anything else. So maybe just "Aa!" with rising tone at the end instead of falling.
