Is this an accurate way to frame Esperanto? It makes it seem a bit Eurocentric. Isn't Esperanto also heavily influenced by Yiddish, as well as Germanic and Slavic languages?
It depends on how many languages you know. If more esperanto speakers in respective areas, languages could do a research of their tribal languages, it might be words also in Esperanto, for example, bahasa Melayu, sama, is also in Esperanto. Bahasa Melayu is a tribe in Indonesia, certainly, they live longer than Dr Zam. Of course, now more and more Bahasa Indonesia has esperanto without O, example, industrio, industri.

Next, the Min Nan Hua ，闽南话，which is more than 1900 years old in southern part of china, te, teo, is similar sound but of course not in similar writing form.

To say Esperanto is Eurocentric, those people are so limited in their language knowledges.

I have said this many times.

The only difficulties I see arising from the European origin of Esperanto are the use of consonants and consonant clusters that do not exist in Asian languages.
In Vietnamese for example there are no consonant clusters and this makes for difficulty in pronunciation.

There are better reasons for supporting "the extensive use of word formation" (such as keeping the base vocabulary of manageable size).

The late Claude Piron was a professional interpreter and accomplished Esperantist. He wrote several articles examining whether Esperanto is truly an exclusively western language or whether it also has some "Asian" features, especially structurally. Some of his articles are available here:

That is scary. It sounds like they want to speak Esperanto the way they speak English.

It would be nice if there was a huge body of video content in Esperanto that would codify the language. I don't think text is enough because many languages have significant differences between the written version and spoken version. This might happen to Esperanto also.

I think you've missed the point. Bahasa Indonesia isn't trying to be Esperanto, and Indonesians speak the same Esperanto as everyone else. Rather, like Esperanto, Bahasa Indonesia uses some common European roots that are found on many languages (like industri/)

We don't need video content to codify the language. It is already as codified as any living language is going to be. The difference between the spoken and written language is minimal now, as it had always been, and the way that the language is learned (mainly through classes or text based courses, not at home or on the street) maintains this norm.

And in any case, we don't need video, there is already a large corpus of spoken Esperanto audio, which is sufficient for anyone wishing to compare how it is spoken to the writing.

That was really a response to the claim by Se, that they speak Esperanto nouns(?) without final -o. Whether it's true or not is another matter. If it happened to be true, then it would be a problem I suppose.
