johmue:I know many eternal beginners who are like here another book, here another exercise. At some point that does no longer help. Then you need to speak.Thats interesting. For better learning experiences: Would it bring some benefits 'to slip in foreign language speaker its syllable corset'? (Keep in mind that movies can be reduced in speed). Example. That would allow some beginner to put oneself in the position of speaker of some foreign language. (German: 'sich in jemanden hineinversetzen').
To create such syllable corsets it strictly needs dialogues half female, half male to ensure 'access' for both female and male learners. I.e. with Ana Pana* course I run into issue that I like man without actor expertise; that I like man I can not put myself into female foreign language speaker. Some emotional distance will remain with me and female Ana Pana because I'm man and she is woman.
What licence new Lernu course will have to allow reuse for creation of other learning material?
*I only know Lidepla version of it.

erinja:Are you saying that you became proficient at every skill that you ever started learning? If so, that is truly remarkable.Keep in mind that a quitter is different than an eternal beginner.
Imagine that Aliens came to earth and they developed a language learning program that was so effective that you could be fluent in Hebrew after only 10 hours of study. You could study all in one day or spread it out as much as you want. In such a case, Hebrew will become the lingua franca of the world.
Conversely, languages that don't have any tools will never be learned by anyone.

erinja:Why yes, I COULD spend 30 minutes working on a language course or working out at the gym or cleaning my house this evening - or else I could sit and watch television...Therefore, we need some television based Esperanto education.
Why would you spend your time WORKING on a language course? Using the word WORK shows that the courses are not enjoyable. That is what I am saying. The water is dirty.

Bruso:I finished it too, mostly out of bloody-mindedness or masochism, take your pick. I had no desire to go on to Ana Renkontas. This proves the point that the tools for learning Esperanto are poor quality.
I am grateful to the ones who created them. Muddy water is better than dying of thirst.

Polaris:There definitely IS a need for mid-level, intermediate material. That is so true.

erinja:Effort makes such a difference, doesn't it?Researchers say that motivation is the number one factor in learning a language.
...one or two, a small percentage, who actually put effort into it and came out speaking well enough...If the system only works for 2% then it is a failure.
