As much as I hate the concept of an Esperanto dialect, can't we consider Ido as a dialect.I would have to disagree here. True, the two languages are very similar but referring to them as dialects of the same language, at least to me, undermines what both Ido and Esperanto have accomplished. I personally do not consider either to be a mere dialect of the other both for social and linguistic reasons. The social part I clarified before and my justification for why I do not consider them to be dialects linguistically either is that quite a lot of the vocabulary and grammar are disparate in the two languages. For instance, the plural and the infinitive are formed differently. Another example could be how the simplicity and logic construction of the correlatives in Esperanto do not have an equivalent in Ido. The pronouns also differ and the accusative in Ido is very limited compared to in Esperanto.
