I thought of Esperanto when I saw this

Your subject line threw me. I kept expecting a cut to someone's kitchen hosting an Esperanto meeting.

I'm old enough to have seen science fiction go from the fringe to the (mostly) mainstream although [this problem] still occurs.

.... You mean society doesn't have Esperanto on their fridge? Now I'm all disappointed. My fridge has nothing but some magnets and some artwork by my toddler niece.

Sorry about that. I meant to say fringe. Sometimes, my fingers type the words that they want to type.

That disconnect is ever evident.

In any case, why not put some Esperanto on your fridge?

Indeed, why not. The Esperanto fridge magnet should be in every home.

Everybody should just chill.

There is no better way to chill this summer, than with this Zamenhof drinking glass filled with your favorite beverage.

PS. To the Lernu admins. Url linking seems to be broken.

URL linking isn't broken, it's disabled. There was a user who decided to check our system for security flaws by using the URL links to inject scripts into the site and post his results to the forums. Because it was not possible to make a quick fix to this problem in light of the other work that the site is currently undergoing, and because the problem was now public and we couldn't have a publicly-known unrepaired security problem in the site, the URL linking was disabled entirely.
