Anyway, I believe Duolingo has been the best recent invention for enlarging the e-o population ... probably 95% of users will forget Duolingo and esperanto after a couple of days, but some of those 5% will get hooked on esperanto...

I remember the day of the Oklahoma City bombing, people were saying it was likely Islamic terrorists
That is long before my time, so I wouldn't know.
This stereotype didn't need help from Bush (who was years from the presidency) or from the Fox news channel (which did not yet exist).
It needed a lot of help from the republican side.
And no one links Duolingo and Esperanto...
I agree but they do link Esperanto with Duolingo. It is a unidirectional link.
