This thread's language is English. You should include an English translation if you want to include text in a language other than English.

--------

But back to the actual topic of the thread, I've found that with the new forum structure, I read more Esperanto posts than I did before. It is my hope that this new structure will encourage people who had previously mainly hung around in their national language forum to branch out a bit and read posts in Esperanto as well. Though anyone who is rigidly against this can of course set their language setting to show only posts in a language other than Esperanto, and it more or less replicates the old national language forums, only divided up into categories.

I think I agree with the above. At first it felt chaotic, but the fact that all languages are thrown together under the headings makes it more 'broadcasting' than 'narrowcasting'. It's doubtless better that multiple languages can turn up in the most visited forums, instead of languishing in unread or barely-read forums.

I've written (and read) way more Esperanto posts than before. There's a lot to be said for being nudged out of the tracks. It was too easy to just gravitate to an English-only forum and stray out into the Esperanto forums only occasionally.

Christa627:Yeah, the international language. You know, English.

*forkuras*
I dont think so.English only for the people whose mother language is english.no all the people. It just many people speak it and learn it.so i think international language must be some manmade language such as esperanto or others.

I was just joking; sorry if that wasn't clear. ridulo.gif

bartlett22183:Speaking only for myself, and for no one else, I honestly think that (for me) the old lernu! forum structure was better.
+1

I too found the older structure easier and quicker to use.

As an Esperantist mi estas malĝoja (I am sad). Sed as a programmer who must practize her English I am glad because I could use my English less.

You folks do all know about using the language filter to only view posts in your chosen language? Some comments sound as if some people have not found this feature
