Saluton! I am a beginner. I have completed the first two lesson in the mail in postal course so I am just starting out.

I need help translating the phrase "What are you doing?".

I am trying to figure this out and I have come up with: Kio are vi ? I dont know the correct word for "doing" and I am unsure if my sentence structure is correct or not in this phrase.

Dankon,

Corta

Another thing to remember: When translating a "to be + (verb)-ing" construction, don't use "esti"..........just put the proper tense ending on the verb root (the verb minus the -i); e.g. I'm going to the store, "Mi iras al la vendejo" and not "mi estas iri al la vendejo" (I've seen this). Another way to say it is "mi estas iranta..." but that's VERY precise, and not really needed in the vast majority of situations, overkill, if you will. ridulo.gif
