Yeah, I got it too. They probably carpet-bombed the whole Lernu community. I also reported it.

Ditto. Classic Nigerian 419 spam. Also reported it to abuse@yahoo.fr.

Usually this sort of scam involves some sort of claim that they need to get the money into a U.S. bank, and that they will pay you an outrageous sum if you let them deposit the money into your account. This letter gives the receiver no incentive to contact them. It seems the quality of spam has really gone down in recent years. If I'm going to be annoyed by spam, it should at least be competent spam.

I got it also by the way, and reported it as such.

Ah, they sent to you all also? Yeah, I thought this would be spreading like a wildfire. It is unfortunate that scammers have come into our community, meh. Well, I reported it also, hehe, along with a funny response to the sender.

Did you give him advice on how to improve his message? rideto.gif

I got two of these ruberoj from "zaina55" who claims to be from "GF" - French Guiana, though her city is Abidjan, in the Ivory Coast. Hopefully the teamo will close the account of "zaina55" and anyone else who tries such nonsense.

I deleted the account this morning. Hopefully no one will fall for it. Torago, what was your funny response?

I enjoy reading reverse scam websites, in which people who receive scam e-mails try to turn the tables on the spammers, and get them to do things like mailing them pictures of themselves in their underwear, filming themselves reading scripts, etc.

This was a funny one - a guy got a spammer to send him two wood carvings.
