In brief - SES ("Summer Esperanto Study") is an Esperanto study week plus lernu meeting that will take place in Slovakia this August (therefore, in the northern hemisphere summer). It will involve Esperanto classes for those who want to study the language, seminars on lernu-related topics for experience speakers, and plenty of tourism in Slovakia and Austria for everyone. I plan to attend and I hope that I will see many of you there!

Lernu.net has funding to pay for the cost of the SES program, lodging, and meals for 10 lernu! volunteers or users. We are specifically looking for people who volunteer on this site, or are very active in the community. If you are not yet active but wish to be eligible for one of these scholarships, I advise you to become active now! It's not too late to become a translator for a language you speak, or work on improving the dictionaries. This scholarship has a value of about 210 Euros.

Send your application letter to teamo@lernu.net with the topic line "Stipendio - SES". In the message, introduce yourself and describe your Esperanto and lernu activity to date. Try to write your message in Esperanto! Also describe your plans for working with lernu, assuming they exist (translation, advertising, creation of content, or whatever idea you may come up with?).

Note that if you receive this scholarship, you will be expected to actively participate in the lernu-related programs during SES. This will include workshops on various topics, etc. More information about that will be published as more definitive plans are made.

The deadline for sending your application is May 15th. We will announce the recipients of the scholarship before May 25th.
