A reverse novel is one which the story is told in reverse chronological order, such as by presenting the chapters to be read in reverse order. It might seem that a crime novel told in such a way would be anti-climatic, or boring, but there is a highly-successful instance of such in English, namely, “The October List”, by Jeffery Deaver. So, are there any reverse novels in Esperanto?

edit: Can you read a normal novel in reverse without spoiling the suspense? No. The achievement of a reverse novel is that you can read it in the intended reverse order without spoiling the suspense. To take the example given, “The October List” is suspenseful in its backward telling, but is banal in its forward telling. So: a reverse novel is much more than a normal novel written in reverse: the tension of the suspense also gets flipped into reverse.

Is it different than just reading any book backwards?

Ah ha! I see what you did there. Though I did mean reading the order of chapters in reverse.
