I've just started using Lernu and am not able to insert diacritical marks using either the h or x method. I am on phone/tablet. Could someone please give me explicit instructions how to do this. Thanks!

Dan

Do you have the ``x->^'' icon enabled at the top bar?

Try using another browser: Chrome, Firefox.

If your system runs Android, you can install a third-party keyboard app that would allow you to enter diacritics.

Anysoft Keyboard has an Esperanto language pack. It's easy to switch between languages and the Esperanto keyboard layout is painless.

I'm not all that happy about the permissions it requires, but it's one or other isn't it? I used AppOps to switch off the 'read contacts' permission.

Google keyboard has Esperanto layout. It is default e.g. for Lenovo tablet. But e.g. Samsung has its own keyboard and you have to install Google keyboard to use Esperanto. Also, you don't need to select Esperanto layout: long touch 'c' and you can select 'ĉ' without changing language.
