It is the independent word ‘ology’ that I am focusing on here, but it is a trivial matter to extrapolate Benson’s entry to the independent word ‘ology’. (Both Merriam-Webster and Wiktionary have an entry for ‘ology’ as an independent word.) Neither Wells nor Sonja nor Vikivortaro has an entry for this. ReVo has an entry, but the entry contains a typo.
So, kudos to Benson for including ‘-ology’!
