How to send message through this website?

Several months ago they upgraded and refined this site. From then on, you will not be able to send private messages.

I found this odd as I have been looking to practice German and I remember I used to be able to get people to learn with on duolingo and i looked the other day and thought "strange I remember being able to message people and correspond with them" it appears you can no longer do that kinda dumb if you ask me as how are people meant to talk to each other and practice which was supposed to be the point of lernu.

Yes, the private chat has been deleted. But there is still this forum.

The lack of a chat function on this site pretty much destroys its utility. They also appear to have removed about 80% of the content

Yeah, this is sad. I've come back to the site after a long hiatus with a renewed desire to at least get really good at reading and writing Esperanto, but without the ability to message others here on the site, I can see the task will be a lot harder.

Hopefully internal messaging will be brought back at some point.

August 2020 and private messages haven't been still updated. As a newcomer and komencanto I feel like entering a ghost town xD

I created my account on March 2019, and I never knew those private messages possibilities. But thanks to a recent update, you can send friend requests and write messages that only your friends will see.
