Saluton! I just have begun studying Esperanto. I am interested in a language with regular grammar and morphology and believe that no natural language satisfies this requirement. This is the primary reason. Understanding the connection between natural and formal languages is another one. My topics, mathematics, computer science, and programming, are abound with formal languages.

In the past, I often ignored "hello" or "meet and greet" threads in other forums. Now I miss it. ☺ It is hard to remember a language without talking in it. So I welcome other novices to use this thread. Feel free to answer in Esperanto, but do not use complex sentences, please.

Saluton! I've only just started learning Esperanto as well. I like this language because it's a good segue to other European languages. I usually shy away from group forums because I'm irrevocably shy, however I think it's important to discuss and immerse yourself in a language. Hopefully this is a good place to start. ridulo.gif

Good luck. I discovered that Esperanto is very European and contains many European words. Who knew that a Latin proverb "Dura lex sed lex" would be useful because I learned "sed" from it. ☺

Why "n" in "tagojn"?

You should not use the suffix -n after the words komencanto and tagoj here. For -n there is to be direct addition or other rules.
"Mi estas komencanto ekde proksimume kvar tagoj".
or if you want -n
"Mi komencis lerni la lingvon Esperanton, mi tre ĝojas tiujn ĉi unuajn kvar tagojn ridulo.gif

Yeah, I can find a lot of comparisons between Esperanto and French (the only European language I know well), especially in the verbs. ^^
